Dahmer Jeffrey Dahmer

A former chocolate factory worker, Jeffrey Dahmer was imprisoned in 1991 for the slaying of 17 men and boys. Dahmer was beaten to death in November, 1994 by a fellow inmate at the Columbia Correctional Institution in Portage, Wisconsin.

Between 1978 and 1991 Dahmer drugged, strangled and dismembered the young men he lured to his low rent Milwaukee apartment; most of his victims were gay or visible minorities. The trial revealed that Dahmer had sex with at least one corpse, ate body parts of his victims and kept the remains of others as souvenirs in large vats of acid and his freezer in his home. Neighbors had long complained among themselves about the stench coming from his apartment, but he was not discovered until one of his targets escaped, and flagged down the police.

Dahmer pleaded guilty by reason of insanity, but the court found him sane on all counts and was to serve 16 life sentences. He was 34 at the time of his death.
